oh Lloyd…

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a HUGE fan of the 80’s. The movies, the music, the clothes…LOVE IT! This weekend I was so happy to learn that Encore is having their “Big 80’s Weekend” so…Ive been in front of the tv all day watching movies. Say Anything is probably one of my most favorite of the 80’s movies, I also watched 3 O’cock High (very 1986) and now I’m watching War Games (my first crush was on Matthew Broderick after seeing this movie) See? Ive always loved nerdy boys!

I just love the scene in Say Anything, right after Lloyd gets kicked in the face at Kickboxing (Sport of the Future) where she tells him she loves him and he leans in, like he wants to kiss her so bad but holds himself back because he doesnt quite know if she is true, just the way he looks at her…ugh…i just want to grab him and kiss him right through the screen! Id say John Cusack and Jeremy Piven are tied in my top celebrity crushes.

Bowl cuts and Shirt Tails cartoons

Rollerskating parties and Rainbows on everything

Neon colors, those belts that did nothing but hang crooked, Duran Duran posters covering the walls

the bullet proof bangs

blue mascara and permed hair

swatch watches, friendship bracelettes, pink lip gloss, teal eyelineer, button earings…no chewing gum in class!

stretch pants, layering socks, huge sweaters…Everybody Wang Chung Tonight

and my most favorite memory of my 80’s experience

braces and headgear!
