I'm so glad that RD was able to get Cody back!!!! I always had a problem chasing my dog until I remembered that he knew the command "stay." As long as I was "chasing," it was a game...once he knew he was supposed to stop and stay put, I could walk up to him to get him. Could Cody learn a command like that? What a relief!!!!! I would have had a heart attack! I do the same thing with Gizmo, even if we are on our little portion of a backyard. He is normally really good, but you never know when they will get a wild hair up their ass and just take off!! Thank Goodness RD found him and brought him back to you! *sigh* Wow! Thankfully ours isn't. It took three weeks after we got him to close off the last side of our back yard fence, and he'd just sit back there playing. I still always keep him on-leash to give some peace of mind to the non dog-lovers out there. I’ve known plenty of flight risk dogs. Thankfully ours isn’t.
