communication 101

I just had the most interesting conversation.
Have you ever heard of a Relay call? I hadn’t, and had always wondered how people who are unable to hear or speak are able to make phone calls. This was sort of funny too.
So just now I put up some Playboy magazines on craigslist for free. I have 6 of them from a couple of years back. Here’s the story on that: three years ago I got the Dreamer a subscription to Playboy before I decided to leave him and moved here. Since the subscription was under my name it followed me here to Texas ha ha. So I have been hauling those magazines around because I didn’t think it would be right to just throw them away.
So the phone rang right after I posted them on craigslist and it was a girl from sprint ip relay.com I thought it was a survey at first and I was all confused. Yes I can be an airhead sometimes. So what happens is, the person on the other end writes to this relay operator and she tells me what he is saying. So then you say something back but you have to remember to say “go ahead” so the operator knows you are finished. I forgot to say it a couple of times and she sat there quietly. I’m sure she is wondering why some girl has Playboy magazines! A little embarrassing but funny. Another one to add to my craigslist stories. Learn something new everyday!

Funny — I get relay calls at my job sometimes. Never thought about how that would be used outside of business calls!
